Before your session

We will have a pre-session consultation (either in person or over the phone) when we can chat about your pet, as well as discuss how you plan to display your photographs, so that I can be sure that your session is conducted appropriately and that I take the type of photographs that you are dreaming of.

Location

Where the photo session takes place is up to you!  Favourite park, in your home, or in a studio setting – if you don’t have a preference I am happy to make suggestions.  Outdoor sessions are weather dependent and may need to be rescheduled or moved indoors if there is precipitation.  Every animal is different, so every session is different, but I usually take around 60-90 minutes for one or two animals, in one or two locations.  Some pets take a long time to warm up, and some get tired quickly, so I let them choose the timing.

Seeing your photos

Your viewing and ordering appointment will be scheduled for 2 weeks after the photo session.   You will get to see a carefully selected assortment of the best photographs, and we can review your display plans and discuss which photographs will best meet your needs.  I prefer to hold this appointment at your home, so that I can help you choose which prints & artwork will best meet your needs, but we can meet elsewhere if necessary.  This is my second favourite part of the whole process (actually photographing your pets is the first, of course!) because I get to see your reaction to the photographs.  That makes me feel great, naturally, but also lets me help you to identify which photographs are your favourites.  It might be hard to believe but some people are so overwhelmed by all the wonderful choices that they have a hard time making a decision!

Delivery of prints & artwork

It generally takes 6-8 weeks after the ordering appointment for your prints & artwork to arrive.  This time allows me to do full edits on all purchased photographs, and for the professional labs that I work with to print, prepare, and ship your photographs.  Then I give every item a final check for quality control purposes, wrap them up, and deliver them to you myself.  If I’m lucky I get to watch you open them – it’s better than Christmas!
